I've always thought the word fulfilment to be a strange one, its ful and fil squashed together with a little (ce)ment at the end to hold it all together.
It's different for each of us though, right?
And then there is self-fulfilment now this has to be different from normal general fulfilment. I always think of someone achieving a lifetimes ambition or finally getting to wherever it was they were going in life, so they become fulfilled - which again is something entirely different.
And then there is the whole issue of being fulfilled - are you ever really for more than a second fulfilled? - there is always the next thing around the corner, ambition can play its part here or greed can get involved or just the elements of life.
A serial bank robber who always thinks "just one more job" could be ambitious, certainly not fulfilled and probably a little greedy when it comes down to it.
A person running a successful business might be fulfilled for a second before thinking about grand plans of expansion, so ambition takes over again.
The poor little blighter, nobody stands a chance of being fulfilled for more than a second with all these other things kicking around.
sure you can be successful, take a journey of self enlightenment, find meaning from the stars or devote yourself to a cause or religion but fulfilment, well that's a different ballgame.
Another fulfilling blog..... or not
Depends on if your full or not, or still hungry I guess? or does it?
Welcome to the Blog, you actually made it here, I'm chuffed
My blog - My passion is my life and my life is my family and my work. working across so many countries and mixing that with my own viewpoints on all sorts of things. Thanks for stopping by.....

Souvenirs for the Royal Wedding anyone??
The Royal wedding is upon us. It's everywhere at the moment. Social index scores are going to go through the roof with all the tweets. Now I may be an Englishman and I am sure it will be a great day but for me I'll have it on the tele and that's about it. Good luck to them, it must be strange being a Royal couple, with the obvious comparisons.
Anyway this blog isn't about that it's about the strange and random souvenirs that have come about as a result of this Royal shindig.
Ill looking plates are only the tip of the iceberg!
Ill looking plates are only the tip of the iceberg!
Over the last few days I've been seen some strange items on Facebook and the web and I thought I would put a few of them here for you.
This was brought to my attention last night. That is right folks you can purchase these special edition rubbers. Ideal for when you fancy a royal rumble or something a little more posh. Imagine the look on your ladies face when you tell her that William and Kate will be joining your night of passion. One of these discreetly left on the bedside cabinet will show her your about to treat her as Royalty. Can also be rolled out to provide all weather bunting, or giant water bombs.
When I found this I thought of getting on the phone straight away and getting one. It's unique though and limited. Her dress is cheese based and William is sporting a salami suit with peppers. Lada Gaga eat your heart out. At least it looks like you actually might get a decent amount of topping on this one though. There is also a joke here about inches but its a Royal wedding so I have to be a little careful...
3) Iphone Wedding Cases £7.99 from Trendylondonsouvenirs.com
This made me feel a little uneasy actually.
I was thinking there must be something out there for the person who wants to celebrate whilst holding their gateway to the social media world in the palm of their hand. Not only can you tweet the day away you can also do it with a constant reminder of your
love for the happy couple. I would say these are going to sell out fast but then what do i know about royal weddings. I used to really like our Charlie and Diana ashtray when I was a kid, that was well engineered to. Haven't seen many of them this time around though, I wonder why?

4) Harry and Katie?? From guandongenterprises ltd
Genius, I couldn't get a better picture of this mug but visit their site and have a good look. It would seem that someone wasn't quite sure how William looked! - This could be a genius purchase and one I am sure we will see in a few decades on the Antiques roadshow. Well we might you never know! - really have a look at the site its my favorite so far.
5) The Travelmug £20.50 from Zazzle.co.uk
Now this one actually has a practical use and is well built.
For a lot of my engineers out there that morning coffee is essential.
Usually a quick slurp before leaving for work, well
not anymore! Your morning sip will remind you of this
glorious day from this day onwards.
The only thing I would say though is that this is going to look better in the drink holder of a Jag than it is a old clapped out white van. French car holders may still apply as just having this in the car is going to add value. I think I must have something for mugs as
I seem to like these last 2 items the most.
Thats is. There is a lot of other stuff out there but all these items are real. I've linked each one to its source so you can share in the joy of the big day. My advice is not to spend your money on plates and tacky items but instead choose one of the Royal selections above.
Have a great day!

Closing the laptop
I've been away for a week with the family and spending a little more time away from the desk I seem to have spent the last year of my life rooted at. In-fact, I looked at my chair today and there is a distinct impression of my arse cheeks pressed into the leather bounding.
For work I'm at the computer or on the iphone or on the landline. when I am not working and not out and about I'm usually reading things online, writing online, trying to work out the next thing. .
My television viewing hours are less than double figures on a weekly basis as I'm plugged into to the online world.
I still had my wireless dongle on holiday, I still had to check emails but I was more regimented. morning and evening rather than constantly.
As we approach Easter, if you have family spend sometime with them, your online friends will still be there and so will your business. If you haven't afforded yourself the time lately because you have been so busy walk outside and take a big sniff of that crazy real world.
Normal service is now resumed, but I'm going to keep a little back for me and the girls - and shut this damn laptop more.
is this how an Ant or a Bee feels ? I wonder .....

Can words describe Japan?
Now, I'm not jumping on the bandwagon here or trying to show a side of my character I haven't before but I am genuinely and deeply trying to understand just how it is in Japan at the moment.
How must it feel if your a survivor of what has happened before and what fear must you have of the future?
Earthquakes, Tsunamis, Nuclear, volcanoes, aftershocks and complete devastation of anything that resembles a normal life which will last for many years to come. (is there anything more that can be added to the list of living hell?)
As a human we are nothing against the power and rage of the planet we live on. If this was a crime it would be one where the victim was tortured and then executed. Lured out by a quake and then swallowed up by the sea, if there is a higher power then one might ask where is the mercy?
The TV shows things many of us have never seen before, normally I would shun the news for its reporting but the last few days have been something I cannot put into words.
All I know is these events for me have put a real relevance on things - if you have something to do, do it now because one minute you could be having a nice day and the next........
None of us are indestructible

The Day after you have died.........
Travelling home on the motorway today I was listening to me brain as i often do when the radio has bored me to tears.
Random thoughts often occupy this space, long drives are tedious at the best of times.
So my random thought was, I will only know the world up until the day I die. That could be tomorrow it could be years from now but the thought was still there.
What about those who have come and gone, who never saw a computer, a motorway, a microwave. What about that hover car or time transportation.
Those who never knew the Concorde existed or 30mb broadband for that matter.
Rarely has anybody lived in complete peace though in this modern world...
Which then made me think do we really appreciate our lives in the here and now. whilst on lifes motorway we all stop and start but we are all trying to get to a destination without getting held up or setback., For some a journey can be a pleasure and for others a hellish experience.
How many journeys are driven by the situation? - I'm going to be late for my plane, (must drive faster) my wifes having a baby (am I even holding the wheel??) -
Its the same bit of road for everyone, what we do with it and how our journey goes it unique to each of us.
And then I thought, I must get off the motorway and enjoy the country lanes for a bit.
Don't you think that sometimes?

Are you a person, a number or something unexplained?
A normal day pre measurements was to catch the morning dose of blogs, think a little, respond a little and generally just be yourself.
These days your too busy tweeting a link and writing a blog and then linking it, then checking on your klout round the back of your ear. Then behind the bikesheds the PeerIndexes are there making you write just so you can keep up with the crowd. PeerPressure? Not if you're doing it right.
And don't backtypechat the teacher otherwise you're going to the back of the class sonny.
Do you remember when you could just blog without having to try and understand the greater reach? Or the fact that you may be doing things not for your own steam but so you can go from 38.1 to 38.9?
If I've ever tried to give advice this would be it.
With what the social media world will bring us and the fact that the landscape is constantly changing never forget who you are and the real reason you made that first comment or that first blog.
We fight so hard not to end up as numbers, and we are doing just that. There are some very successful people in this online world who made it just because they were them, and not a score or a mark.
And the question is who do you really want to be? What is going to make you happy in this world when you pull those sheets up at night over your body and close your eyes and for that moment not linked to the world, just ask who you really are......

You Version 1.0
Greetings version 1.0 you look in good shape.
I see you have already completed the initial tests successfully and have updated your profile on more than one social media site. From the likeability tests we can see that people are attracted to your words and your points. Now we are able to move on to your firmware upgrade.
So version 1.0 we are now going to configure your additional settings, to make you an individual. We had some difficulties in the early versions of your programming, the facebook virus but this seems to have now been controlled. You were experiencing to many 3rd party applications and your chips were fried.
Now though you have several options with the refined SM chip, which will be dual core as soon as we can connect you via the twitter virtual servers.
We have assigned the following to you.
SM - Social Media chip allows you to identify potential places to "spread your digital seed" - Ecademy, linked in, Friend Feed and Addpublic have all been entered into your core system. You will still notice some internal translation issues with Addpublic, our engineering specialist A Wideow will update the program as soon as the German issues can be fixed.
Blogs - We have assigned several interesting topics for you to discuss which are sure to grab your readers attention - these include - the better way to brush your dog. Breath mints for Zoo animals and instructions on how to make your own Big Mac. Version 1.1 should see some significant improvements to the range of subjects.
Personality - We have programmed you to be - Warm and fuzzy when commenting but spiky and current with your blogs. This way your are sure to grab the attention of many.
Style - with version 1.0 you are not able to change your skins. With 1.1 we are hopeful that this will change, with the colours of the rainbow being added. some will not like you at version 1.0 stage but with the leopard can change its spots technology this will be fixed in the upcoming patch.
We predict with future versions that version 1.4 will be a backwards step before 1.5 sorts out previous issues.
Anyway if you would like to step into the wi fry area we will begin.......

A real Story about Change
Often when I have change in my pocket I just throw it in a tray on my desk until it builds up before giving the kids the coppers and using the rest for those ever so "cheap" tolls and parking spaces.
The thing is as I was sorting through the coins I felt a little bit dirty
I know it's a little strange to make comparisons but I found myself like a tyrant or a dictator sorting through his people.
"All the silvers and gold's separated out from the coppers"
Those of value and those of little value to the tray. Those Coppers just taking up space, over populating the tray and suffocating the gold's.
The coppers now segregated into a jar downstairs, where they stay amongst their own.
The Gold's and the silvers are allowed to mingle freely.
The exception of course being the 5 pence's.
These are allowed to live in relative harmony with the others unless their numbers grow too large. Then a cull is required which often leaves only a few remaining.
A few end up with the coppers who are brand new and shiny, the rest are sent away in batches, small and unloved in the end.
There are also other area's around the house where small change tray communities grow. Often these communities are kept segregated or robbed overnight to make another community bigger.
One underground community, the "Sofa change bunch" are completely different from the rest. They live without class issues. Only the bravest and luckiest of change ever make it to the sofa, let alone enter the secret entrance to the underground cave. There, coppers and silvers and gold's live in harmony in the fluff fields and lost sock island. Occasional raids by young hands sees only a loss of small numbers which are soon replaced by the man falling asleep on the sofa when returning from the pub.
The coppers in their isolation stay until they reach vast numbers. Then they disappear suddenly, their home briefly void of any tenants.
The Silvers come and go but have a longer life than any of the other change tray dwellers.
The gold ones are often brief visitors, stopping only for a moment until they are called into action once more.
Look after the pennies someone cried, and no one listened……..

The Big Wide Digital World part 2
The thing is this digital world isn't confined to the same restrictions that the planet we live on is. Everyday it grows and gets stronger fuelled by the millions upon millions of mouse clicks and data streams. It has no atmosphere in the real sense, doesn't need oxygen to live. It can work 365 days a year and double up if you need it to and you can reach anyone nearly anywhere from your own chair. That's more power than a president or a country leader would have had 30 or 40 years ago.
Technology on a personal level is easy to manage and easy to replace..
The strength of your network, the power of your network - It's not though we are just a part of it, some get past the single cell stage and evolve. Some, like google become a heartbeat, holding it all together for the mere mortals. Giving them an entry point to the asylum that is the social age.
(Google probably has taught the world more than most schools these days - how many times have you googled something just to find out an answer or research? - we are googlebots)
For a mere few quid a month I'm connected to the world. An evolution in a lifetime - from a single cell to something which starts to grow with others around them. As soon as one network grows another retracts. Facebook has changed the way people use the web. Whatever came first or whatever comes next its the first place I ever knew my gran had signed up to. Then came a few heated wall posts between friends, lovers, ex lovers and along came all the silly apps. Now its evolving into different things.
You can almost use it in an entirely different way to others, even if its just playing poker.
So that's what is sitting in-front of us - and where will it go? The countries are in place, most of the lands are claimed and now we have to fit in with the system and the lands that are presented before us. There will be new lands and new discoveries but who will finish off the western frontier?
If you ever have an idea try this - google something around it and see what already exists - you I think may be surprised ...

The Big wide Digital world, and it's all yours.....
Just think for a second about this…….
Imagine that you could, with a computer and access to the internet publish your vision of a better world to all those who would care to listen. If you could stumble upon a rich source of content and support. A place where the space rubbish never clutters and megabits make musical melodies as they deliver your message to the masses.
We don't mean adverts, not websites with company information and clever Java monsters popping up and blasting us with a HD3D view of the world nor do we need the 4 minutes between your favourite soaps to "get it out there". In fact, buses are of more use to us when it comes to the task.
But fire up that laptop and you my pretty are on the way to stardom.
It's like X factor without the judges, Strictly come dancing without the scores. Imagine a funny version of Animals do the funniest things, or someone not dying at Christmas in Eastenders.
It is the grail my sweets.
From now on your not just connected. You are super connected - look around you, look, look there out the window, thousands of them await you, millions of them want you.
The possibilities that exist out in this new digital world are there, some will see things that others never will. Roads and streets and places are created every day in the digital world. It has no walls and no restrictions - you can write a blog just as easily as joining a swinging site. You can sign up for a life changing experience or order as much beef jerky as your jaw can chew. You can invite people into your living room, yet they never have to leave theirs.
We all write blogs for various reasons. To say we shoot from the hip is a fair assessment but then we'd have to already have the gun upon our persons if that was the case. Just today for instance I've just read a recipe for an awesome curry from some bloke somewhere who said I should have a look. I spend fair amount of time online, researching so its glad to have something ready at my fingertips, but I wonder do we then limit creativity? If everything is already there……
IT's up to you , to choose your path. Next time I'll tell you where I think you should start………
Actually of course I won't because I don't know your path, then that's the beauty of the digital age.

Is Betting and Cheating the way to go in Sport?
Over the past few weeks I've been keeping up to date with the news about the betting within cricket and the shame it has brought upon the sport as a whole.
I'm not really a big cricket fan so I guess I haven't felt the impact as some die hard fans would. What impact does it have on watching a game or even trusting the scoreline. The constant allegations and huge syndicates that exist behind the sport....
But its deeper than that.
Cricket has been exposed and its been going on for a while, but what other sports really now cannot be looked at with a lingering eye?
Football was thrown under the spotlight a few years ago, but what if the ref was on the books? or a striker having a bad patch, or a goalie who starts missing everythig?
- all of a sudden questions can arise.
what about Rugby?? - Bloodgate for instance ?
Tennis - well that would be easy to throw a game, point or set here and there.
Snooker -already had a run in recently
So what is to be trusted of our modern sports these days ? - don't get me wrong when I watch Spurs play the suggestion never enters my mind, but these days you never know what is going to turn up in the Sunday papers.

Songs not to play on hospital radio
When I was around 16 I worked for a local hospital radio station for a couple of years with a good friend of mine, presenting the From me to you show, with the Beatles as our backing track. We were never given the joy of being a producer (that came later) and had to sit in a room with a old microphone carved into the middle of a round table.
It was pure cheese back then, even walking around the wards you couldn't help but feel a little like smashy and nicey.
Some of the wards were for the very elderly and were full of charm and long battles with life, health and happiness- some grumbled, some moaned and some had nothing but a cheer in their heart.
Maternity was always a strange place, very tense in some areas and very relaxed in others as each mother went through the stages of pregnancy but each sparkly in their own way. We saw 2 women twice through our time there, both laughing that we were still there doing our thing.
I digress slightly,
While sitting there, presenting our "request show" there were always songs that you could not play, even if they were requested, and I thought you may have a a few as well to add to this list.
I try to comically look at this, sometimes thinking about it we were so tempted when one of the older crew used to ask specifically for some great things.
Strangely "My Way" by Frank Sinatra was allowed. We worked on the basis that the guy that ran the station only ever looked at the titles and not the meanings of a song
i think it may have been one of the most requested nationally at the time but don't quote me on that
I can remember 3 songs that were on the "blacklist"
Stairway to Heaven
The first cut is the deepest
Every Breath you take
Feel free to add some more
